Last year Atlanta lost 2 members of royalty – Bankroll Fresh and Shawty Lo. Although Shawty Lo enjoyed his peak success around a decade ago while Bankroll Fresh’s stock was still rising rather quickly, both artists are legends in their own right. Just ask around the city. Now, though, the legacies of both artists continue to grow as their respective camps prepare to release albums for them both this spring.

On March 24th, Rico will officially hit the streets and a month later, on April 24th , Bankroll Fresh will posthumously follow up with In Bank We Trust . The release will come just over a year after Bankroll Fresh’s death and 2 days before Shawty Lo’s would be 41st birthday (which is actually today).

Shawty Lo’s album, Rico, will be released by 300 Entertainment and will feature Boosie BadAzz, T.I, O.T Genasis, Lyfe Jennings, Ralo, and more. Two of Lo’s children, Quando and Keke, will also appear on the album.

We don’t quite have an official track listing for In Bank We Trust at the moment, however, his mother, Terisa Price, had this to say,

“We’re gonna have some features on there from different other artists that’s out… but we’re working on it now and we were just in the studio the other day and we’ve got a hot song that’s gonna be a single. I named it ‘A Hell of a Night.’ I named ‘Dirty Game’ and I named ‘Truth Be Told,’ I named those songs. I think it’s highly anticipated.”

Both artists have released lead singles from their albums as well. Bankroll dropped “Truth Be Told” back in January and Shawty Lo released “My Love”,featuring Lyfe Jennings, in February.

The Grammys may not have found it important to commemorate these two late greats, but I don’t think that’s fooling anyone. Everyone who was touched by these artists knew who they were and what they did (even Beyoncé). That’s all that matters and I can’t help but believe that they would have felt the same way. R.I.P Bankroll. R.I.P Shawty Lo.

Atlanta rapper, legend, and superhero Gucci Mane has been on an epic run since he was released from prison earlier this year. He has already dropped two full-length albums, “Everybody Looking” and “Woptober”, this year and has even released two mixtapes this month – “Free Bricks 2″ with Future and “1017 vs. The World ” with Lil Uzi Vert. Mr. Zone 6 also proposed to his longtime girlfriend, Keyshia Ka’oir with a “10/17/2017” wedding date in mind. Now, Gucci gears up for his third official release this year, “The Return of East Atlanta Santa”.

Anyone who is familiar with Gucci knows that behind his tough exterior, he’s a guy that loves to joke and have fun – especially within his music. So, it should come as no surprise that the shooting of his “St. Brick Intro” music video was his chance to do just that (not to mention show off some of the acting chops he has come to take pride in). Over production that includes a thumping bass behind a trap-infused “Jingle Bells” melody, Big Guwop beautifully combined his real-world imagery with the cheerfulness of the holiday season as he talks about “trapping through the snow” and “selling Christmas tree”.

“The Return of East Atlanta Santa” is set to be released on December 16th. Check out the “St. Brick Intro” video as Gucci rolls up in his foreign sleigh dropping cash and gifts on a family awakened by commotion.
