Lupe Fiasco Keeps It “Tranquilo” on New Single Featuring Rick Ross and Big K.R.I.T

Despite threatening to exit the rap game last year, Lupe Fiasco’s 6th studio album, DROGAS Light, is set to be released on February 10th by his label, 1st & 15th/Thirty Tigers. With this project being the label’s first release, Lupe surely intends on shaking up the industry – something we can speculate simply by looking at the track list he released back in December. Now “Tranquilo”, a certified banger featuring Ricky Rozay and Young Krizzle, has been dropped to hold us over for the album.

As Fiasco fans know, we can always expect to be hit with some real lyrical content – especially when he’s preparing for an album. “Tranquilo” is no different as the three spitters painted a vivid picture of their visions of more peaceful days. Some of those peaceful days already exist in the artists’ memories while others, such as being able to fearlessly be Black in a hoodie, are still a dream. Nonetheless, this track is one to bump on the morning drive as Lupe uses the hook to serenade you over the hypnotic Floss & Flame production.
