With the hottest song in the country and their Culture album finally arriving, Migos have been hitting the scene hard. Just last week the trio performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live where they received recognition from the host for having a stronger weed scent than any other guest on his show – most notably, Willie Nelson and Snoop Dogg. However, who would have ever expected Migos to take their Culture campaign to a university lecture hall?
Colleges and universities have been more and more liberal about offering courses of study centered on hip-hop culture. I mean, it’s going to become pretty hard not to seeing that the genre has already spread across every continent with no slowdown in sight. In fact, Philly just recently had The Institute of Hip-Hop Entrepreneurship open its doors.
300 Entertainment, Quality Control, Nue Agency, and the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music are listed as the hosts of the event while Quavo, Takeoff, and Offset will be filling in the “professor” role. The intimate discussion will be held in NYU’s Iris and B. Gerald Cantor Film Center and will include a breakdown of Migos’ impact on music, fashion, pop culture, and more.
