Dave East, Harlem’s pride and joy, is joined by New York’s rap icon, Nas, on powerhouse single “Godfather 4,” inspired by the real-life Don Corleone himself.
If you’re a true fan of The Godfather, then consider this track as a nitty-gritty insight into the fourth part of the series that Francis Ford Coppola never made – now starring Nas and Dave East.
“Godfather 4” sees East, a protégé of rap god Nas, stepping up as a true curator in a right of his own, taking a cinematic turn with sampling from the musical score, which effortlessly sets the stage for East‘s unparalleled bars that only Nas could flawlessly balance; a hallmark of their co-signing to Mass Appeal Records.
At the same time as proving a lyrical yin-yang, Dave East and Nas successfully tease what’s in-store for East‘s highly anticipated debut studio album Survival.
Survival is set to drop November 8 – stay tuned.
Juelz Santana has been relatively quiet in the past few years in regards to releasing new music other than the occasional feature. Now, the Harlem native is seemingly ready to have a revival.
At only 34 years old, Juelz is still young and very much talented. He showed that undeniably when he dropped “Up in the Studio Getting’ Blown” toward the end of November. He then went on to release “Time Ticking” – a hard-hitting street anthem dedicated to chasing paper in which he enlists Dave East, Bobby Shmurda, and Rowdy Rebel to deliver some bars. Now he’s taken it a step further by rounding up some NYC royalty for “Ol Thang Back”. The track features none other than Busta Rhymes, Jadakiss, Redman, and Method Man.
Word on the street is that Juelz will be dropping an album in the near future, but there isn’t any authenticity to that claim as of yet. Nevertheless, let’s keep our fingers crossed. Peep the full length record here!
